Corvette Picks Colorado's Pikes Peak Over Another Run at the Nürburgring
Ford holds the Nürburgring production-car bragging rights again, and the Corvette program has decided its next proving ground sits closer to home. Tony Roma, who leads GM's performance work and the Corvette line, explained to The Drive that the team pointed itself toward Pikes Peak in Colorado rather than returning to the German circuit for another attempt. He conceded that plenty of enthusiasts had hoped to see an answer on the 'Ring. For owners and collectors on this side of the Atlantic, the decision puts America's sports car on an American mountain, with the whole effort unfolding in our own backyard above Colorado Springs.
