The Eight-Cylinder 7-Series Is Coming Back, and It Will Wear an M Badge
BMW's largest sedan is getting a V-8 again for the 2027 model year. The car is called the M760, and it takes the place of the 760i at the top of the 7-series lineup. It is an M Performance model rather than a full M car, which puts it in the same tier as the brand's other M-badged performance versions of its regular sedans. Output is expected to land in the neighborhood of 570 horsepower. For the owners on Ocean Boulevard and in Beverly Hills who never warmed to the idea of a flagship BMW without eight cylinders, that is the number that matters. Model year, nameplate and engine count are what the announcement gives us, and we will report pricing and driving impressions only when we have them firsthand.
