General Motors Sketches a Forklift With No Seat at All

General Motors has filed for a patent on a forklift built without anywhere for an operator to sit. The space a seat would normally take is given over to coupling hardware, so one machine can hitch to the next and several can travel together in single file. It is a working machine, not a collector's car, but it comes from the same Detroit maker whose name sits on the grilles in our readers' garages. It shows that company still rethinking how a vehicle is laid out, down to whether it needs a driver.
