Honda Leaves the Civic Type R's 315 Horsepower Alone for 2027 and Puts the Work Into the Chassis

· 1 min read

Honda has kept the turbocharged four-cylinder in the Civic Type R unchanged for the 2027 model year, still rated at 315 horsepower. The changes are in the rest of the car. Revised aerodynamics press the hatchback harder into the pavement, upgrades to the chassis go further than a cosmetic refresh, and the cooling has been improved. There is also a comfort addition this car has not had before: warming elements in the seats. For owners, the main point is that the engine's output stays the same, and the model-year change goes into grip, cooling and the cabin.
