A Mustang's EcoBoost Turbo Four Is Moving Into Miatas, and Buyers Will Be Able to Order One
Road & Track reports that a Mazda MX-5 Miata of the current ND generation has been built with the turbocharged four-cylinder engine pulled from the Ford Mustang EcoBoost, tuned to send well over 400 horsepower through the small roadster. The build is not staying a one-off shop project: the same outfit plans to offer the swap to Miata owners who want their own ND finished the same way. Customers who order the conversion should be able to take delivery before the year is out, putting a genuine Mustang-based drivetrain under one of the smallest hoods in American showrooms.
