Nissan North America's top executive told The Drive that new vehicles will carry restrained references to the automaker's earlier work rather than a full retro reboot. The executive described the goal as staying faithful to where the brand started as new products move through development. For owners who track how a marque's identity threads from one generation to the next, it is a notable on-the-record signal from Nissan's American leadership about the direction its design language is headed.
