The Original Caped Crusader's Ride Heads to the Block
Tim Burton's own Batmobile — the working hero car built for "Batman Returns" and driven on camera throughout the 1992 production — is headed to auction, with pre-sale estimates running as high as $7 million. For collectors of screen-used vehicles, it represents one of the rare instances where a fictional machine becomes an authenticated piece of automotive history in its own right. The car's sale price, if it climbs toward that ceiling, would rank among the more notable results for a film vehicle in recent memory.
