At Petit Le Mans, Ford's Newest Racers Salute Its Very First

· 1 min read

Ford's Mustang GT3 entries are running at Petit Le Mans in commemorative colors that honor the Sweepstakes, the car that started the company's racing history. The Sweepstakes is 125 years old, and the Mustangs are current GT3 machinery. That puts the first and the latest chapters of Ford's competition story on the same car for one race weekend. For owners and collectors who follow provenance as closely as lap times, it is a gesture worth noticing: a manufacturer bringing its origin to the track in front of the crowd.
