The Plug Has to Pay: Ionna's Chief Makes the Case for Charging as a Real Business

· 1 min read

Seth Cutler, chief executive of Ionna, has described the electric car's prospects in plain commercial terms. In an interview with The Drive, he said his company is in business to earn money, and that electric cars depend on charging becoming an enterprise that pays its own way. For anyone with a cord in the garage and a long drive ahead, that kind of frankness is reassuring: a charger built to make money is a charger built to stay open and working. It is the same logic the filling station has always followed, applied to the plug.
