Rivian's Latest Software Update Turns R1 Owners into First Beneficiaries of R2 Design Thinking

The American Set on film — also on Instagram.

Rivian has begun rolling out RivianOS 2, a software update that carries the redesigned infotainment interface built for the newer R2 back to the R1, the truck and SUV that first put the brand on driveways from Aspen to the Hamptons. Owners of the existing R1S and R1T will see the cabin screen take on the look and feel Rivian designed for its next-generation model, without buying a new vehicle. It is the kind of update collectors of early-production R1s will appreciate: the newest thinking arriving in a truck already in the garage.
