Scanning the Whole Car to Build One Exhaust

· 1 min read

A BMW owner scanned an entire older BMW in three dimensions just to fabricate a new exhaust system for it. A replacement exhaust only has to fit under the car, so a full digital map of the whole body is far more than the job needs. That excess is what makes the project worth a look for anyone who keeps an older car running in a home garage. It shows how carefully one enthusiast chose to treat a car that was never built to be fast.
