Volkswagen's New Efficiency Concept Just Beat the Benchmark Mercedes-Benz Set

· 1 min read

Volkswagen has unveiled the Mission Efficiency, a "near production" electric concept that picks up the thread first drawn by the automaker's XL1 hypermiler. The car has already surpassed the aerodynamic and powertrain efficiency marks set by the Mercedes-Benz EQXX, itself considered a benchmark concept in the category. For a marque with a long history of chasing efficiency as its own kind of performance, the milestone puts Volkswagen back at the front of that conversation.
