Belmont Clears Its Weekend Card Ahead Of The Storm

The New York Racing Association has called off live racing at Belmont Park for both Saturday and Sunday, standing down the weekend program as a powerful nor'easter bears down on the region. Forecasters are tracking extremely high winds with the system, prompting the track to act ahead of post time rather than wait out the weather. The decision clears the Belmont oval for what would otherwise be a full weekend slate, with racing to resume once conditions allow.
