Bottle of Rouge and Clicquot Lead Hill 'n' Dale's Night of Stars Consignment at Fasig-Tipton
Hill 'n' Dale is bringing two standouts to the Night of Stars session at the Fasig-Tipton November Sale. One is Bottle of Rouge, owned by Bob and Jill Baffert; the other is Clicquot, a Grade I winner. The Bafferts have stood in this sales ring before. Three years ago they came to the November auction with Fun to Dream, a Grade I winner they bred themselves and a daughter of Arrogate. By the account of that visit, the mare lived up to everything the couple had hoped for when they brought her. Now they are back with Bottle of Rouge, and this time she sits beside Clicquot at the head of the Hill 'n' Dale lineup. Night of Stars is the evening session of the November sale. Leading a consignment there with a Grade I winner and a Baffert-owned mare says a great deal about how the consignor's offering is being received. For anyone who follows the breeding side of the American turf, the evening offers two names worth catching and a return trip to the sale for a family that has had success there.
