Keeneland Sets Mare Age Rules for Its January 2027 Sale
Consignors bringing mares to Lexington's first sale of 2027 will work under new rules on how old a broodmare can be when she enters the ring. Keeneland's January auction, where horses of every age are offered, will be the first to use the revised terms. The changes also raise the upset price, the minimum below which a horse will not be sold, though the new figure has not been published. These are the rules buyers and sellers will be bidding under when the Kentucky sales season starts next winter.
