U. S. S. Valor, a son of War of Will, won the Champagne for Team Valor International, the outfit that bred him and still races him. A colt that carries his breeder's silks into a major juvenile race says something about the program behind him: the mating, the foaling and the early lessons all happened under the same people who were cheering on raceday. The win puts his name at the front of the discussion about the Grade I Breeders' Cup Juvenile at Keeneland. Whether he goes to Lexington is still up to his connections.
