A Frank Lloyd Wright for $2.1 Million, and It's in Michigan
A Frank Lloyd Wright house is on the market for $2.1 million. It isn't in Palm Beach, Naples or anywhere else you'd expect. It's the Samuel Eppstein Residence, outside Kalamazoo, Michigan, and it was built in 1953. Down here, people tend to treat architecture as a local matter. Palm Beach has its Mizner arches, Miami has its Deco, and Naples keeps its good taste to itself. A name like Wright's travels, though, and it holds its value in any state. Kalamazoo is a long way from the Gulf, but a buyer who cares about who designed the house will make the trip. The house has lasted more than seventy years and is now ready for its next owner.
