A Hollywood Hills House From 1927, Kept the Way It Was Built, Now Asks $8 Million
Ross Cassidy, an interior designer, has put their 1927 house in the Hollywood Hills on the market at $8 million. The house is in the Spanish Revival style, the same Mediterranean idea that Palm Beach adopted as its own a century ago and Naples still likes to revisit. It has been brought back to good condition, and the work kept most of what made it distinctive when it was built rather than replacing it. It means something when a designer has done that to their own house, because they know better than anyone how easy it is to start over. For readers on our coast, a Hollywood Hills listing of this age is a reminder that Los Angeles and South Florida share an old taste for the courtyard house in a warm climate. In Miami this would be called vintage, in Palm Beach it would just be called the house, and in Naples someone would ask whether the original part could be kept. Here, it was.
