The Jackson Hole House That Skipped the Lodge Look
WRJ Design's Rush Jenkins and Klaus Baer took on a home in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, and left out the stock mountain-West looks most visitors would expect in that valley. Instead, the house leans on cashmere floor coverings and pieces meant to be passed down through the family, which is a quieter kind of luxury than the usual Western set dressing. Floridians know this move well. Palm Beach has always preferred a family piece to a trend, Naples admires anything done with restraint, and Miami would probably still ask where the neon went. A mountain house that chooses softness over theme belongs with the Florida houses we cover, and we tip our hats to the designers who built it.
