A Publisher Puts His Restored 1950s House in Beverly Hills on the Market at $25 Million
Benedikt Taschen, the publisher, has listed his Beverly Hills house for $25 million. The house is known as the Adelman Residence, and it was built in the 1950s. Two architects share the design credit: Thornton Abell and O'Neil Ford. It has now been brought back in full, so it stands today as the work of that decade. Florida knows the 1950s well, in its own regional dialects. Miami shows the era off in neon, Palm Beach keeps its version politely behind a hedge, and Naples would simply like you to admire the lanai. That's why a Beverly Hills house from those years, restored completely and still credited to the architects who drew it, is worth a look from the Gulf Coast too. It's a reminder that a house from that era can be taken care of rather than replaced.
