Twice the Old Record: An Electric-Blue Veyron Brings $5.4 Million at Auction

An electric-blue Bugatti Veyron has sold at auction for $5.4 million, the highest price ever paid for the model. The previous top sale for a Veyron was less than half that figure. The Veyron was the car that started Bugatti's modern era of hypercars, and this result shows how highly collectors now value that first chapter. In Miami, a blue like this would stop traffic on Collins Avenue. In Palm Beach, it would be admired quietly. In Naples, it would be kept in a climate-controlled garage and taken out on Sunday mornings.
